Motorcycle Rider Caught Speeding Over 100 MPH Before Deadly Fountain County Collision

Indiana State Police is currently investigating a tragic incident that took place on Sunday involving a motorcyclist in Fountain County. According to ISP, a trooper observed the motorcyclist traveling at speeds exceeding 100 mph in a 55 mph zone on U.S. Highway 41 northbound. Despite the trooper's attempt to initiate a traffic stop, the motorcyclist evaded them, prompting a search by other law enforcement units in the area. Subsequently, two Attica police officers spotted the speeding motorcyclist on U.S. Highway 41 southbound. The motorcyclist recklessly passed one officer and collided with the other's patrol vehicle before entering the City of Attica. As the motorcyclist continued through the city, they disregarded an intersection and collided with a Chevrolet Silverado. Tragically, the motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and succumbed to their injuries after being transported to a local hospital. The identity of the rider has not yet been released by the Fountain County Coroner's Office. The driver of the Silverado sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
