Men hospitalized near Miami Airport after road rage shooting incident
A serious incident occurred during rush hour traffic close to Miami International Airport on Friday evening, resulting in two men being critically injured after gunfire was exchanged, as reported by the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office. Deputies were called to the scene on Southwest 92nd Avenue and Southwest 4th Street at around 5:45 p.m. to find the men with gunshot wounds to their upper bodies. They were swiftly taken to hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and are currently in critical but stable condition. According to Samantha Choon, a public information officer with the MDSO, the violent episode appears to have originated from a road rage incident between the two drivers involved. One witness, Grace Castro, initially assumed it was a car accident when she arrived on the scene. Despite one passenger remaining unharmed and being questioned by detectives, no one else was involved in the shooting. The authorities mentioned that multiple shots were fired, but the exact number is still being investigated. It has not yet been determined by detectives who fired first or if both drivers discharged their weapons. The MDSO is advising drivers to avoid confrontations on busy roads to prevent such unnecessary and harmful incidents. While no charges have been announced, investigations are ongoing with interviews of witnesses and evidence.
