
Marquette students die in accident; search warrant reveals driver was intoxicated
An individual who admitted to drinking and driving has been implicated in the tragic accident that claimed the lives of two Marquette University students. The driver involved in the crash at 27th and St. Paul confessed to drinking alcohol prior to the collision, resulting in the deaths of Marquette men’s lacrosse players Noah Snyder, 20, and Scott Michaud, 19. The individual, a 41-year-old woman whose identity is being withheld as she has not yet been formally charged, was arrested at the scene for potential charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle. The investigation revealed that she had failed sobriety tests and acknowledged consuming two Steel Reserve beers before the incident. Moreover, authorities noted signs of impairment such as glassy eyes, slurred speech, and difficulty maintaining balance. It was also disclosed that the woman had a previous conviction for operating a vehicle while intoxicated in 2003. Marquette University is offering support services for students affected by this tragedy, including counseling and pastoral aid available on campus around the clock.
