Man sentenced for admitting to 2 counts in deadly 2024 accident

AUSTIN (KXAN) - After admitting guilt to two charges related to a deadly accident in February 2024, a man, Jacob Sussman, has been handed a sentence. As per records from Travis County court, the 43-year-old will serve 10 years of deferred adjudication for manslaughter and two days in county jail for driving under the influence. Deferred adjudication in Texas is a form of probation that allows individuals to avoid having a criminal record. Additionally, Sussman has been instructed to fulfill various requirements, including paying restitution, completing 150 hours of community service, and receiving mental health services as part of his sentencing.
