Man in Yuba City arrested for fatal crash after domestic violence situation

A call regarding domestic violence in Yuba City led to a series of events resulting in a crash and foot pursuit, ultimately culminating in the arrest of one individual and the tragic death of another person. The suspect, identified as Marco Hernandez-Mora, fled the scene in a vehicle prompting law enforcement to issue a search alert. Hernandez-Mora was later spotted by a Sutter County sheriff's deputy but proceeded to drive recklessly, resulting in a collision with another vehicle and a tree. He attempted to escape on foot but was apprehended shortly after by Yuba City police officers and Sutter County deputies. Unfortunately, an unresponsive individual found in the backseat of Hernandez-Mora's vehicle did not survive the crash. Hernandez-Mora is currently in custody for suspected domestic violence and may face additional charges related to the incident. Authorities are investigating the case, and residents in the area have been advised to temporarily avoid the location.
