Man in Folsom arrested for deadly two-car crash
A 20-year-old man named Elijah Zackney from Folsom has been taken into custody and accused of causing a fatal car accident on Folsom city streets on May 28. The collision led to the tragic death of 20-year-old Braiden Flynn, also from Folsom. The accident occurred at the intersection of Golf Links Drive and East Natoma Street. Despite efforts to save him, Flynn unfortunately passed away at the scene. Zackney cooperated with authorities following the incident. An investigation was carried out by the Folsom Police Major Accident Response Team. Nearly four months later, an arrest warrant was issued for Zackney by the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office. Flynn, who was a childhood cancer survivor and graduated from Vista del Lago High School in 2023, was known for his positive outlook on life and dedication to health and fitness. A month after his passing, a balloon release ceremony was organized by his loved ones at the intersection where the accident occurred as a tribute to his life and legacy.
