Man from New Port Richey fatally struck in Tarpon Springs accident on U.S. 19
A tragic incident occurred in Tarpon Springs where a man, identified as Brandon Posey, 41, lost his life after being hit by two vehicles on Tuesday evening at the U.S. 19 and Tarpon Avenue intersection. Tarpon Springs Police Department responded to the scene after 8 p.m. and found Posey deceased in the northbound lanes, just north of the intersection. It was reported that Posey exited a vehicle in the southbound lanes of U.S. 19 and attempted to cross the northbound lanes, where he was first struck by a black BMW and then run over by a gray Ford SUV. The drivers of the vehicles are cooperating with authorities, and impairment is not believed to be a factor. The investigation is ongoing, and witnesses with information are encouraged to contact the Tarpon Springs Police Department.
