Man charged with felonies following fatal Milwaukee police pursuit that resulted in 3 deaths
A tragic event unfolded on Tuesday night in Milwaukee's west side as a high-speed police chase led to a fatal crash when a stolen vehicle ran a red light and collided with a car carrying five occupants, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and serious injuries to two others. Trevon L. Loston, 19, now faces numerous felony charges, including possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent, felony bail jumping, and operating a vehicle without the owner's consent, as per charges filed in Milwaukee County Circuit Court. The pursuit began when officers spotted a white 2017 Dodge Journey speeding through residential areas at 70 to 80 mph. The chase culminated in tragedy at the intersection of North 35th Street and West Vliet Street when the Dodge Journey crashed into a 2006 Mazda sedan, killing a mother and her two sons instantly, and leaving two others with serious injuries. Loston, found unconscious with a firearm in the stolen vehicle, admitted to driving it from Indiana to Milwaukee where it was reported stolen. Facing previous firearms charges and already out on bail with weapon possession restrictions in Milwaukee County, Loston is also involved in pending charges related to another police pursuit in Indiana. The investigation is ongoing with the potential for further charges.
