KSP probes deadly crash with Arkansas woman

The Kentucky State Police (KSP) are currently looking into a crash involving a semi-truck and a sedan in Hopkins County near Dawson Springs, leading to one fatality. The incident occurred late Thursday night on Interstate I-69. The KSP was contacted by the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office for assistance after a collision at mile marker 92. A preliminary report suggests that a semi-truck and trailer, driven by Jose Tovar-Silva, 51, from Sanluis Potosi, Mexico, was heading south on I-69 when a sedan driven by Julia Jones, 64, from Blue Mountain, Arkansas, crossed the median from the northbound lane, resulting in the collision. Unfortunately, Jones was pronounced dead at the scene. The ongoing investigation is being headed by Detective Jacob Stephens of the Kentucky State Police.
