The Kernersville Police Department has provided more details regarding a pursuit that resulted in a tragic crash and fire at Caudill's Electric over the weekend. Authorities observed Isabelle Lawson, 25, driving a stolen vehicle on Hwy. 66 and initiated a traffic stop, but she evaded them by speeding away. The chase lasted for less than a minute, covering under a mile before Lawson crashed into a power pole on East Bodenhamer Street. Despite police efforts to rescue her, EMS declared Lawson deceased at the crash site. The impact with the pole resulted in a fire at the Caudill Electric building, leading to its destruction. However, the business continues to operate.
