Investigation ongoing into deadly accident at North Augusta Lowe's
On Sunday afternoon, the Aiken County Coroner’s Office was called to Lowe’s on Knox Avenue in North Augusta following a construction accident that resulted in the tragic death of a man from West Virginia. Emergency responders arrived at the store at 5:04 pm after 43-year-old Ray C. Straight was involved in the accident. Despite CPR efforts, Mr. Straight could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:50 pm. An autopsy will be conducted in Newberry as the investigation by the Coroner’s Office and North Augusta Department of Public Safety continues. Stay tuned for updates on this developing incident.
