Investigation launched after pedestrian killed in serious Port St. Lucie crash
Tragically, a local woman lost her life in a crash on Thursday evening when she was hit by two vehicles while crossing Southeast Port St. Lucie Boulevard and Southeast Wald Street, an area lacking a crosswalk or traffic signal. The victim, 52-year-old Lizzie Ricano-Bornot, was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of both vehicles involved cooperated with authorities, and alcohol and speed are not thought to have played a role in the incident. The Port St. Lucie Police Department is continuing their investigation and witnesses or anyone with relevant footage are encouraged to reach out to officer Stenly Tomczyk at 772-871-5001 or Treasure Coast Crimestoppers at 800-273-8477.
