
Investigation into fatal accident by Van Wert OSHP.
PAULDING — A fatal two-vehicle crash is being investigated by the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The incident took place around 1:14 p.m. on Tuesday on CR 123, just north of CR 126 in Jackson Township, Paulding County. James A. Hasch, 50, of Paulding, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Camaro southbound on CR-123 when he tried to pass another vehicle on the right. Hasch collided with a 1998 Mercury Sable driven by Curtis W. Gawronski of Paulding. After the impact, Hasch's Chevrolet Camaro veered off the road, hitting a utility pole and overturning, causing Hasch to be ejected from the vehicle and unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene. Gawronski remained unharmed. Assisting agencies included the Paulding County Sheriff's Office, Paulding Fire and EMS, Paulding County Coroner's Office, Paulding Putnam Electric, and J & R Towing.
