Injury toll rises in Chula Vista's late-night rollover accident
Early Thursday morning in Chula Vista, a vehicle carrying four individuals struck a concrete pillar on Marina Parkway, causing it to flip multiple times. Emergency services responded to the scene to find a badly damaged black BMW 335i. Two women with minor injuries were taken to the hospital, while the two men, including the driver Blake Todd, sustained life-threatening injuries and were transported to trauma centers. Todd was arrested for felony DUI with injury before being hospitalized. Authorities suspect alcohol played a role in the crash, though the official cause is still under investigation by the Chula Vista Police Traffic Bureau.
