Indictment of Eden dump truck crash driver for linemen's murder

A man from Eden, North Carolina, Michael Ray Vernon, is facing new charges for allegedly causing a fatal accident that resulted in the death of four workers. Previously charged with various driving offenses, including failure to stop for a stop sign, Vernon is now indicted on four counts of second-degree murder and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. The incident involved a dump truck that struck six individuals, resulting in the tragic loss of four lives. The city of Eden, where Vernon worked, handed over the investigation to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, with further review by the NTSB. Vernon is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
