IDENTIFIED: Woman named as driver in deadly crash into Fresno park
FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The driver who died after crashing into Fresno's Woodward Park last week has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner's Office on Wednesday. The coroner's office identified her as 21-year-old Khushmeet Mahal of Fresno. On May 9, around 2 a.m., police said that a driver, now identified as Mahal, was going fast down Shepherd Avenue at Friant Road. Mahal, police said, failed to make a turn and drove straight into a maintenance yard at Woodward Park. After the crash, the car caught on fire. Officials say Mahal died at the scene.
