Identification of fatal crash victims near Nebraska City done by authorities
Authorities reported that a tragic accident occurred Thursday night south of Nebraska City, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The incident involved a pickup truck and a semi-truck on Highway 75, between County Roads P and Q, at approximately 9 p.m. The pickup, driven by Alvin Sobbing, 70, veered across the centerline while heading southbound on the highway, leading to a head-on collision with the northbound semi-truck. Sadly, both Sobbing and a 12-year-old passenger in the pickup lost their lives at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck emerged unharmed. The Otoe County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the crash.
