Identification of casualties in deadly traffic accidents near San Diego
Authorities in San Diego have identified six victims of recent fatal traffic accidents in the area. One incident involved a hit-and-run on Sea World Drive, where emergency personnel found one of the motorists involved had fled the scene. Another fatality was that of 61-year-old Celeste Necochea, whose body was discovered near the crash site the next day. Other victims include a 38-year-old motorist who died in a wreck on Interstate 5, a 44-year-old passenger in a pickup truck that crashed on state Route 78, a pedestrian named Maria Mercado Alvarez who was struck by several vehicles in City Heights, a 24-year-old who crashed his sedan in Vista, and a 43-year-old driver whose pickup truck collided with a disabled transit bus in Otay Mesa.
