Icy conditions cause two-vehicle crash in DeKalb County

A collision involving two vehicles occurred early on Monday and resulted in one driver being taken to a hospital with injuries, as per information from the Dekalb County Sheriff's office. The incident happened around 6:32 a.m. at the junction of County Road 68 and County Road 427. Officials noted that the icy road conditions contributed to the accident. Reportedly, one of the vehicles was heading north on CR 427 and tried to make a right turn onto CR 68 when it slid on the icy surface and hit the other vehicle that was stationary at the stop sign. The driver of the stationary vehicle complained of arm pain and was driven to a nearby hospital by Parkview EMS. Fortunately, there were no other injuries reported. One vehicle was severely damaged, while the other sustained around $10,000 in damages. DeKalb County Central Communications, Parkview EMS, and Auburn Fire provided assistance at the scene. Officials emphasized the importance of drivers being cautious when driving on icy roads.
