I-77 in Fayette County Reopened Following Accident

Update: The West Virginia Department of Transportation has reported that all lanes going north on the West Virginia Turnpike have reopened following a rollover crash involving 13 vehicles. The incident occurred at 10:36 p.m. on Tuesday, with a tractor-trailer rollover affecting 12 other vehicles. Fortunately, there were only a few minor injuries. Emergency gates were opened within the barrier to redirect traffic while crews worked to clear the vehicles. All but one vehicle were successfully removed overnight, and sand was utilized to clean up spilled oil. The delays lasted approximately 5 hours in total. In Fayette County, a crash is causing significant traffic congestion on I-77. The incident was reported on I-77 North near mile marker 62 close to Westerly. As of 10:36 p.m., the northbound lanes are shut down. We have contacted local authorities for further updates and will provide more information as it becomes available.
