I-55 accident in Will County kills 1, injures another; lanes now open: ISP
A fatal accident occurred on Interstate 55 in Will County early Sunday morning, resulting in one person losing their life and another sustaining injuries. The incident, involving a passenger car and a commercial vehicle, led to the closure of all southbound lanes near Weber Road in Romeoville until approximately 8:15 a.m. Following the crash, two individuals were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The victim who tragically passed away has not been publicly identified yet. The Illinois State Police are conducting an investigation into the crash.
