I-49 Northbound reopens
UPDATE: The accident on I49 at the Pont Des Mouton Exit has been cleared, and traffic is back to normal. Lafayette Police are addressing a major incident involving a large 18-wheeler, causing delays. Currently, I-49 NB at the Pont Des Mouton Exit (Exit 4) is closed, and traffic is being rerouted. Extra travel time and an alternate route are recommended. The collision resulted from the sugar cane truck abruptly stopping to avoid another vehicle, leading it to jackknife and block all lanes. Additionally, a fuel tank was damaged, but fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
