Hundreds of vehicles delayed due to I-84 W crash injuring pedestrian.
A serious crash on Thursday night led to the closure of I-84 westbound near Northeast 148th Avenue. A pedestrian, identified as a traffic control worker, was hit during the incident and sustained severe injuries. The driver involved in the crash cooperated with police and remained at the scene. The injured pedestrian was taken to the hospital, and their condition is reported to be critical. In response to the incident, the police closed I-84 W between Northeast 181st Avenue in Gresham and Northeast 148th Avenue in Portland. The Portland Police Bureau Traffic Division Major Crash Team is currently investigating the scene, and authorities have asked anyone with information to come forward.
