Houston police chase results in collision in Eastex-Jensen region; one hurt, suspect caught, per DPS
Law enforcement arrested a suspect following a car pursuit that ensued in a collision in Houston's Eastex-Jensen Area, as outlined by Texas DPS. According to a DPS sergeant interviewed by FOX 26, the pursuit initiated around 12:15 p.m. on Sunday near Highway 59 and Laura Koppe Road. The suspect, who was reportedly driving at high speeds with an expired registration, led authorities for about half a mile until the chase culminated at Laura Koppe and Jensen Drive, where the suspect disregarded a traffic signal, resulting in a collision with another vehicle and the ejection of a female driver. The injured driver has been hospitalized and is reported to be in stable condition. The suspect has since been apprehended. Damage occurred to a church fence and the traffic lights at the crash scene. No identities have been disclosed at this juncture. Additional updates will be provided as new details emerge.
