Hollywood nightclub hit by driver, leaving 7 critically injured and over 20 wounded

A man who had been kicked out of a popular nightclub in East Hollywood on Saturday morning later drove his car into a crowd outside the venue, injuring 30 people - seven critically. Police stated that the man, who was later shot by bystanders as he was dragged out of his vehicle, drove his gray Nissan Versa into a valet stand and taco stand where clubgoers usually gather to eat. Witnesses reported that the driver had been removed from the club due to intoxication and disruptive behavior. He then returned to his car, made a U-turn, and intentionally drove onto the sidewalk, hitting the crowd outside the club. Emergency personnel quickly responded, setting up triage tents to treat the injured before transporting most to hospitals. The driver's condition remains unknown. The suspected shooter, described as a Hispanic male with a firearm, fled the scene. The incident, which occurred on Santa Monica Boulevard, involved over 120 firefighters and paramedics. Despite the tragic event, the area returned to normal later that day, with the flea market continuing as usual. Mayor Karen Bass expressed her gratitude for the swift response of emergency services amidst this heartbreaking tragedy.
