High-speed Driver Crashes at Phoenix Airport
During Halloween weekend, a driver was accused of speeding over 100 mph and crashing at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport while allegedly evading Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies who were conducting DUI enforcement. The suspect led deputies on a chase through the airport before losing control of the vehicle at speeds exceeding 90 mph and crashing into barriers. Body camera footage captured a deputy responding to the crash, handcuffing one individual, and extinguishing the vehicle fire while another fled the scene. Although the identities of the suspects were not disclosed, all involved are expected to recover fully. Charges are pending for the driver pending the results of a toxicity report.
