High school tennis sensation Braun Levi killed in tragic crash. Parents sue accused drunk driver.
The tragic incident occurred on Sepulveda Boulevard, where Braun Levi, a respected tennis player known for his achievements and scholarship to the University of Virginia, was hit by a car driven by an allegedly impaired driver with a suspended license. Levi, on the verge of graduation, lost his life due to the collision. His parents, mourning his loss, have established the Live Like Braun Foundation to honor his memory by promoting awareness about the dangers of impaired driving and supporting scholarships and tennis centers. They have filed a $200 million wrongful death lawsuit against the accused driver, Jenia Resha Belt, to support the foundation’s causes. The lawsuit is motivated by a desire for accountability and prevention, not retaliation. Belt was arrested at the scene but has not yet faced formal charges. The driver, allegedly intoxicated from drinking at a Hermosa Beach bar, had a previous DUI charge and was prohibited from driving at the time of the incident.
