Helping surfer Dakota Briley recover from pedestrian-car accident through auction.

An online auction featuring over 250 items is currently taking place until Monday, Sept. 15, to assist in the recovery journey of 20-year-old surfer Dakota Briley. Briley, a resident of Oʻahu’s North Shore and a regular surfer, was involved in a serious accident on June 14, sustaining severe injuries to his brain and spine. He is now receiving medical treatment in Colorado. The auction will fund Briley's ongoing care, with items up for bidding including signed surfboards from Kelly Slater and John John Florence, as well as signed guitars and ʻukuleles, stays at hotels like The Ritz-Carlton Oʻahu, Turtle Bay, gift cards to local restaurants, tours, art, fashion, and more. Shipping costs are extra, and winners on Oʻahu can arrange to pick up their items. To participate in the auction, visit the site here or donate directly to the GoFundMe page. So far, over $326,000 has been raised towards the $500,000 target. Briley's family is requesting prayers for his recovery and well-being. For further updates on Briley's progress, you can follow @prayfordakotabriley on Instagram, managed by the Lau and Briley families who organized the auction.
