Greek actor fined €7,000 for not reporting car crash
Greek actor Vasilis Bisbikis was fined 7,000 euros by a court in Athens for not following traffic laws after a car accident in Filothei. He was found guilty of leaving the scene without promptly informing the police, as required. Bisbikis can appeal the ruling. According to prosecutors, he damaged parked cars and a wall, but instead of staying at the scene, he notified the authorities through an acquaintance at a later time. Bisbikis explained that he had been at a late-night celebration and accidentally hit the vehicles and wall while trying to navigate a narrow street. Although he did not immediately report the incident to the police to avoid media attention, the court did not grant leniency despite his remorse and good behavior.
