
GBI investigates shooting of two men in Screven County.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is currently looking into the deaths of two individuals, Leon Tolbert Jr., 30, and Brandon Counts, 30, from Sylvania, after they were discovered shot early on Saturday. Responding to a car accident report on Highway 301 South near Sylvania, law enforcement found both men in a vehicle with gunshot wounds. Sadly, Tolbert Jr. passed away at the scene, while Counts succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital. Although the car had not been in an accident, it had veered off the road, and a gun was recovered from inside. The bodies of the deceased have been sent to the GBI Crime Lab in Pooler for autopsies. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are seeking information from the public.
