Fugitive arrested in Chicago after fatal Wisconsin New Year's Eve crash
The Cook County Sheriff's Office apprehended a man wanted in connection with a fatal New Year's Eve crash in Wisconsin. Basilio Garcia-Jarquin, 28, was arrested in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood. He faces serious charges, including Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle, related to the tragic incident on December 31, 2023. The Cook County Sheriff's Fugitive Apprehension Unit, in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, located Garcia-Jarquin at a residence on West 25th Place in Pilsen and took him into custody. He is currently held in Cook County Jail pending extradition to Wisconsin.
