Former gang leader from Bridgeport sentenced for accidental fatal shooting and gun theft

A former East Side gang leader who accidentally killed a friend while aiming at a rival gang member has been sentenced to an additional seven years in prison. Sean Davidson, 33, violated his probation by being caught with a loaded, stolen gun less than a year after his release from a 15-year prison term related to the 2010 incident. Davidson, a former head of the East Side Boyz gang, had been initially charged with murder in the death of 16-year-old Anthony "Boobie" Padilla, but later pleaded guilty to manslaughter. Police explained that during a confrontation between the East Side Boyz and the rival Stack Boyz at a community center event, Davidson accidentally shot Padilla while targeting a Stack Boyz member. The defendant will now face a 20-year prison sentence, to be suspended after 85 months, with five years of probation.
