Father speaks out after son's death in Florida Turnpike crash: "He was devoted to his family"

A grieving father is sharing his emotions for the first time after tragically losing his son in a fatal accident on the Florida Turnpike. Jose Gustavo Palma talked about his son, Gustavo Adolfo Palma Romero, following a visit from an investigator from the Florida Highway Patrol to discuss the incident. Palma described his son as a hardworking and caring young man who always prioritized his family, especially after they moved from Venezuela. Despite holding two jobs as a forklift operator and working in a bakery, Palma Romero made sure to make time for his loved ones and even played soccer on Sundays. Palma expressed disbelief over the crash, which occurred early on a Sunday morning when his son's car was struck by another vehicle traveling in the wrong direction. The family is seeking answers regarding the circumstances of the accident and mourning the loss of their beloved family member. Palma, along with his family, is organizing a fundraising initiative to help with the funeral expenses, and funeral services are scheduled to take place on Sunday at Valles Funeral Home in Opa-Locka.
