Fatality in Teller County four-car collision

The Colorado State Patrol responded to a tragic four-car collision on Highway 24 in Teller County that resulted in one fatality on the morning of November 17. The incident occurred east of Florissant just before 5:45 a.m. in icy road conditions. Initial findings indicated that a Dodge Ram 1500 lost control, crossed into oncoming traffic, and collided with an eastbound Hyundai Elantra, followed by a Jeep Gladiator and Ford F250 also becoming involved in the crash. An extensive section of Highway 24 was shut down for several hours while emergency responders attended to the scene. The driver of the Ram was transported by ambulance, while the Elantra driver, unfortunately, succumbed to their injuries after being airlifted to the hospital. The highway was reopened by 10 a.m., and the Colorado State Patrol is urging any witnesses who have not yet come forward to contact them for more information.
