Fatality in solo vehicle accident in Evangeline Parish
A tragic incident occurred in Evangeline Parish when a driver lost their life in a single-vehicle crash. The crash, which took place on La. 106 near Lutz Loop on Nov. 2 after 5 p.m., resulted in the death of Michael Fontenot, 42, from Bunkie. Authorities reported that Fontenot was unable to navigate a curve while driving east on La. 106, causing his vehicle to veer off the road and overturn. Fontenot succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Louisiana State Police are currently investigating the incident, with a standard toxicology sample collected from Fontenot for analysis.
