Fatal two-car collision on Kino Road claims life of 29-year-old woman in Essex County.
A 29-year-old woman tragically lost her life in a collision involving two vehicles on Kino Road in Essex County on Wednesday afternoon. According to Virginia State Police, the incident occurred around 12:44 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, on Kino Road, just north of Clarke Lane. The crash involved a 2019 Kia Sorento traveling south and a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado heading north. The driver of the Kia, identified as 29-year-old Devin Nicole Woodland from Tappahannock, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet, 59-year-old Timothy Winn McKinley, also from Tappahannock, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Richmond. It was noted that neither driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident. The authorities are currently conducting an investigation.
