
Fatal Tesla collision on I-10 East: Two fatalities and vehicle fire
A woman has been accused of causing a fatal crash that led to the death of two individuals early on Friday morning, according to a report by the Houston Police Department. Officers responded to a tragic incident on I-10 eastbound just past the Sawyer Street exit, involving two vehicles. The driver of a Tesla reportedly rear-ended a Nissan sedan at a high speed, resulting in a fire. The Tesla seemed to have hit barriers on both sides of the freeway before coming to a halt. The two individuals in the Nissan were sadly pronounced deceased at the scene, while the Tesla passenger was taken to the hospital by Houston Fire Department paramedics. The driver of the Tesla, a female, remained at the scene and has been charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter. The freeway closure is in effect as the Vehicular Crimes Division carries out an investigation. The identities of the deceased in the Nissan and the suspect have not been disclosed by Houston police. The speed of the Tesla driver at the time of the crash remains unknown.
