Fatal skydiving accident in Massachusetts
A tragic incident occurred in Orange, Massachusetts when a skydiver passed away three days after a mid-air collision with another skydiver. The accident took place on a Saturday afternoon when the man jumped from a Jumptown Skydiving plane, according to Orange Fire Chief James Young. The victim was identified as 62-year-old Robert Szabo from Connecticut, who was taken to a Worcester hospital and sadly passed away on Tuesday. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, with the local authorities and the Federal Aviation Administration involved in the inquiry. Szabo was an experienced skydiver and a valued member of Connecticut Parachutists. This unfortunate event underscores the risks associated with such activities, as emphasized by the collaboration between first responders in Orange and Jumptown to be prepared for emergencies. This marks the second skydiving fatality at Jumptown in recent years, following a previous incident involving another skydiver.
