Fatal semi accident in Colorado mountains shuts down westbound I-70 for a long time
A fatal early morning truck accident near Silverthorne has resulted in the closure of westbound Interstate 70. The crash occurred around 5:45 a.m. near milepost 208, when a semi-truck veered off the road, crashed, and caught fire. All occupants of the truck perished, but due to the severe damage and fire, authorities are unable to determine the exact number of individuals involved. Photos shared by the Colorado State Patrol reveal a significant amount of dog food in the trailer. The highway is expected to remain closed for a lengthy period as officials work on the investigation and wreckage removal.
