Fatal multi-vehicle collision in east Dayton claims life of 43-year-old

In east Dayton on Friday morning, a tragic accident resulted in the death of a man after a Dodge Ram ran a red light on Smithville Road and collided with a Toyota Camry on Third Street. The impact pushed the vehicles into a nearby business parking lot, causing a parked Dodge Caliber to crash into a Dominos walk-in cooler/freezer. Unfortunately, the driver of the Camry, identified as James Moody, age 43, did not survive the crash. The driver of the Ram sustained serious injuries, while their passenger suffered minor injuries. Fortunately, no one inside the building was hurt and the parked Caliber was unoccupied. Investigators are exploring the possibility of impaired driving and excessive speed as contributing factors in the accident.
