Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Paradise, DUI Suspect in Custody

A motorcyclist has passed away following a tragic accident on McLeod Drive and East Tropicana Avenue late in the evening on September 5, as reported by LVMPD. The motorcyclist was traveling east on Tropicana Avenue and approaching the McLeod Drive intersection when a Honda Accord driven by Bryan Vargas-Caicedo, age 36, turned left onto McLeod Drive from the westbound lane, resulting in a collision. The impact caused the motorcyclist to be thrown onto the road. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries, according to authorities. Vargas-Caicedo, who sustained minor injuries, showed signs of impairment and was consequently taken into custody and booked at Clark County Detention Center. The investigation into the accident is ongoing by LVMPD's Collision Investigation Section. This incident brings the number of traffic-related deaths in LVMPD's area in 2025 to 111.
