Fatal Kayaking Incident on Lake Sakakawea
Over the weekend, a tragic accident occurred at Lake Sakakawea, leading to the death of a man. Authorities from the Mountrail Sheriff's Office responded to a call for assistance from tribal police on Friday evening when a 38-year-old individual from New Town capsized his kayak near the Four Bears Memorial Bridge. Despite efforts to rescue the man with a boat, he could not be reached in time. Divers later recovered his body on Saturday afternoon.
