Fatal I-275 Motorcycle Crash in Hebron: 18-Year-Old Killed, Another Injured

A tragic incident occurred along Interstate 275 in Hebron, resulting in the loss of a teenager who was thrown from his motorcycle during a crash and struck by multiple vehicles, as reported by the Boone County Sheriff's Office. The collision, which took place at milemarker 6 on I-275 westbound around 10:49 p.m. on Tuesday, involved a Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Maxwell Trentman, 18, from West Chester, who was traveling alongside two other motorcycles. According to authorities, Trentman lost control of his motorcycle at a hill's peak on a slight right-hand curve, causing him to collide with a guardrail after laying the bike down. The impact broke the motorcycle into several pieces and flung Trentman onto the road, where he was struck by four additional vehicles. Sadly, Trentman succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Another 18-year-old rider, from Liberty Township, was also affected by the debris and suffered minor injuries after losing control of his motorcycle. The Boone County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating the incident and has identified contributing factors such as excessive speed, loss of control, and failure to maintain lane discipline. Despite wearing a helmet, the impact was severe enough to dislodge it. The authorities emphasize the importance of all parties' cooperation in the ongoing inquiry. Following the crash, the road was closed but reopened around 3:58 a.m. on Wednesday.
