Fatal Head-On Motorcycle Collision in El Dorado County
A motorcyclist tragically lost their life in a collision with a pickup truck in El Dorado County over the weekend, according to the California Highway Patrol. The incident occurred on northbound Highway 49, approximately a mile north of Rattlesnake Bar Road, situated between the communities of Pilot Hill and Cool. Law enforcement reported that the motorcycle veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the pickup truck, resulting in the rider's death at the scene. The CHP has indicated that there is no suspicion of DUI for the driver of the pickup, and it is currently unknown if the motorcyclist was under the influence. Fortunately, the driver of the truck escaped injury. The identity of the motorcyclist has not yet been disclosed.
