Fatal head-on crash injures woman and 2 children in McHenry County
A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday morning in McHenry County, resulting in the loss of a man's life and injuries to three others, including two children. The McHenry County Sheriff's Office, in coordination with the McHenry Police Department and Fire Protection District, responded to the scene of a collision on Ringwood Road. The accident involved a 2020 Ford Explorer traveling northbound and a 2013 Toyota Highlander that veered into the northbound lane, resulting in a head-on collision with the Explorer. The driver of the Highlander, a 77-year-old man from McHenry, was fatally injured and taken to Northwestern Hospital. The driver of the Explorer, a 32-year-old woman from Wonder Lake, and the two juvenile passengers were also transported to Northwestern Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The authorities have not provided any further details at this time.
