Fatal head-on collision on SR-104 in Ohio.
A tragic incident occurred on State Route 104 as a result of a head-on collision, resulting in the loss of two individuals and injuries to an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper. The collision took place when a marked cruiser, driven by the trooper, was struck head-on by a pickup truck around 10:17 a.m. The impact caused both vehicles to veer off the road, leading to the pickup truck catching fire. Unfortunately, the occupants of the pickup truck, Harold R. Smith Jr., 45, and Amber Aills, 29, lost their lives in the crash. The injured trooper was transported to a medical center for treatment. Various agencies, including the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, Chillicothe Veterans Affairs Fire Department, and Ohio Department of Transportation, assisted at the scene. The incident is currently under investigation.
