A tragic incident occurred on Highway 101 near Chualar Sunday evening as a result of a wrong-way driver causing a multi-car collision. The crash led to two fatalities and left four others injured. The driver responsible for the collision has been identified as 41-year-old Efrain Plascencia from Salinas, who was one of the deceased individuals. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is looking into Plascencia's actions leading up to the accident. CHP spokesperson Saul Perez emphasized the importance of community assistance in shedding light on the events preceding the crash. Along with Plascencia, 46-year-old Joel Nunez-Vargas from Yuma lost his life in the crash.
