
Fatal DUI crash in Napa County: 6 killed, 2 injured
A tragic accident in Napa County resulted in the loss of six lives on Sunday evening, with two others sustaining injuries. The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred around 5:50 p.m. at 6198 Pope Valley Road, in an area that is not part of any city in the county. The collision site is approximately 12 miles north of St. Helena. According to the initial findings of the CHP investigation, a Toyota Sienna minivan, carrying multiple passengers, veered off the road and struck a tree while traveling southbound on Pope Valley Road. The driver of the minivan, who was reportedly driving under the influence, and another passenger were airlifted to the hospital with severe injuries. The authorities arrested the driver for DUI at the hospital. As of 7:45 p.m., Pope Valley Road remains closed. Further updates on this developing situation will be provided.
