Fatal crash reported on M-59 in Oakland County

A tragic car accident occurred early Friday in Oakland County, leading to the death of a resident of White Lake Township. The crash occurred shortly after midnight on Highland Road (M-59) near White Banks Boulevard, according to a report from the White Lake Township Police Department. At the scene, a white 2016 Ford Mustang was found partially overturned, nestled among dense brush and trees off the road. The driver, a 43-year-old resident of White Lake Township, was trapped in the vehicle and unfortunately pronounced dead on site. The authorities mentioned that the Mustang was traveling westbound on Highland Road close to Pontiac Lake Road just before the accident occurred. The incident prompted a partial closure of Highland Road near White Banks Boulevard until approximately 4:30 a.m. The response to the accident involved the White Lake Township Fire Department, Oakland County Sheriff's Office Accident Investigation Unit, and Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office.
