
Fatal crash on U.S. 65 claims life of Buffalo man
In Benton County, Missouri, a tragic incident occurred as a man from Buffalo lost his life in a collision with a semi-truck on U.S. Highway 65 near Warsaw early on Monday morning. The crash led to the closure of U.S. Highway 65 for a significant portion of the morning. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that at approximately 5:30 a.m., a 2004 Ford Escape SUV veered across the center of the road and collided with a northbound semi-truck at the intersection of U.S. 65 and Byrum Avenue. Subsequently, the Ford Escape swerved off the left side of the road and ended up in a ditch, while the semi-truck careened off the right side of the road, hitting a nearby garage and causing moderate damage to a 1984 Mercedes-Benz 300. Tragically, the driver of the Ford Escape, a 59-year-old from Buffalo, was pronounced dead at the scene by the MSHP. The semi-truck driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for medical care. This incident marks the 46th fatal crash and 49th fatality within MSHP Troop A for the year 2025.
